American born photographer
Stieglitz was born on january 1 1864 iand studied engineering and photography in
Berlin. .
He founded the American Photo-Secession Group with Edward Steichen
in 1902 and influenced the development of creative photography as an art form
with his magazine Camera Work.
He was married to artist
Georgia O'Keefe

The Last Joke—Bellagio - 1887: gathering of children
in a photograph praised for its spontaneity, won first prize in The Amateur
Photographer
Sun Rays—Paula, Berlin - 1889: a young woman writes a letter lit
by sunlight filtered through Venetian blinds.
Spring Showers - 1900-1901
The Hand of Man - 1902: a train pulling into the Long
Island freight yard
The Steerage - photographed in 1907 and published in 1911:

I have just finished reading a fascinating book about Georgia O'Keeffe written
by Hunter Drohojowska-Philp
It contains much information about artists working during her lifetime, and there is
a lot of information about Stieglitz's work as well
