Venetian artist Titian influenced his contemporaries and generations of painters that followed. He lived in Venice and studied with Giovanni and Gentile Bellini, the founders of the Venetian school, and later with Giorgione - some of whose works he completed after the artists death. Concentrating entirely on oil painting his most renowned works were
paintings of religious or mythological scenes and portraits.
